性質
ヘテロ環アゾ化合物の中でCharged Quinone構造を取り得る化合物はモル吸光係数の極めて高い金属キレートを生成し、高感度比色試薬として優れたものが多い。
Nitro-PAPSはアゾ基のパラ位の両端に電子吸引基と電子供与基を持ち、極性構造を取りやすい化合物で、金属との錯形成により鋭敏な呈色変化を示す。ε値もNi, Co, Fe, Znに対して105台に到達している。
血清中の鉄の高感度測定への応用がなされている。血清中に共存する銅、亜鉛はチオグリコール酸-SDS混液でマスクすることができる。国際標準法との一致も良い。血清亜鉛の測定試薬としても応用された。共存する鉄や銅イオンはシアン化物錯体としてマスクしている。
